This holiday cooking boot camp is for the really keen young cook, it will be intense but also a lot of fun. They will learn to cook simple wholesome recipes and will also learn how to cook under pressure for their parents and gain the confidence to try the recipes again at home.

We kicked off our basic cooking course this Wednesday. We are making Sri-Lankan curries, baking rusks, and carrot muffins. Also covering stews, soups and plenty of salads. I’m including recipes for children also. This course is not just open for domestic workers, so if you just want to learn to cook, you are welcome to join.

I have been dreaming of a  community of foodies coming together once a month.

I would love to have a bigger impact, and building relationships.
I have been craving more connection and I would love to have more discussions  about food, cooking and eating it, sharing ideas, discussing recipe books, the newest diet trends, great places to eat and what on earth to put in your children’s lunchboxes, and also what to make when the inlaws come over for Christmas. Maybe this idea will flourish or it will nose dive but I am putting it out there. We will meet once a month on a Friday morning and we will skip the months where there are endless holidays.

Your commitment will be to attend every get-together and if you can not come you will get someone in your place  so the group is always full. You can also pay monthly.

We will be a small group of 12 ladies and over the year I am sure friendships will be built and we will learn from each other.

Every month’s menu will be a surprise, ranging from fancy entertaining recipes to warming and comforting recipes for the winter months. I am more on the practical and healthy side so teaching you to meal prep or hiding veggies from your children will trump fancy meals you only make occasionally.

I will create an exclusive whats up group where we could ask foodie questions, give last minute arrangements or if you can’t come maybe Angela’s mom can come with her.

If this works, it might grow into a few groups, but let’s just see if you can get 12 ladies together.

Summertime is here and if you love ice cream as much as my family you will be very popular in your household if you can master this skill. Join me for a morning of delving into ice cream making; the traditional, the healthy and cheat ice cream.
